Description

Famed for revolutionizing modern watchmaking since its founding in 2001, Richard Mille has consistently debuted timepieces that blend futuristic materials with complex mechanics and unique aesthetics. Speaking to that very fact, the Split-Second Chronograph RM 65-01, released in 2020 as the first automatic rattrapante chronograph ever, showcases the pinnacle of Richard Mille’s horological expertise. Embodying the brand’s relentless pursuit of technical excellence and avant-garde design, the Richard Mille RM 65-01 Split-Second Chronograph Full Rose is constructed from 18kt rose gold, as its name suggests. Offering a hefty sense of luxury to its tonneau-shaped case, a stylistic hallmark of Richard Mille’s, the RM 65-01 is ergonomic and boldly modern.

Fitted within the 45mm x 50mm case is the RM 65-01’s stunning skeletonized dial that is still full of color with yellows, oranges, greens, and reds serving to highlight each of its functions and dials. A technical masterpiece itself, this open-worked dial design reveals the complex split-second chronograph mechanism under the hood. Powered by the automatic RMAC4 movement, the RM 65-01 features 600 components and is controlled by the winding crown and four pushers which includes a rapid-winding pusher at 8 o’clock that gradually winds the movement when pressed. Boasting a variable geometry winding rotor to change the speed the watch is wound during different activities, with the RM 65-01 Richard Mille has throughout of everything. Boasting a futuristic and sporty design alongside a technically astute web of mechanics and sense of luxury through its use of 18kt rose gold, the RM 65-01 Split-Second Chronograph Full Rose highlights Richard Mille’s vision of combining art with exceptional engineering precision.

This timepiece boasts a split-seconds chronograph, date display, function selector, rapid-winding mechanism, and color-coded pushers. It’s powered by the high-performance Caliber RMAC4 with a 60-hour power reserve and skeletonized layout.

Yes, the full 5N rose gold case adds significant weight compared to the Carbon TPT or Titanium versions. However, it retains Richard Mille’s ergonomic case design, ensuring a comfortable and balanced fit despite the denser material.

Absolutely. Despite its complexity and precious metal casing, the RM 65-01 is designed for durability and daily functionality. Its shock-resistant structure, smooth case curvature, and reliable automatic movement make it suitable for regular wear.

While not a formally numbered edition, this version is produced in extremely limited quantities due to the difficulty of crafting such a complex watch in solid gold. Its scarcity and craftsmanship make it a prized asset for collectors.

G&G Timepieces is home to the some of the most exceptional, pre-owned luxury watches, all certified as authentic & collector quality.
